God’s Eternal Purpose (2005) 

This book is based on Paul’s heavenly vision of the Lord on his journey to Damascus (Acts 26:9-20). “Unless we have a vision such as an apostle had, we shall never fulfill God’s commission. It is impossible for God’s goal to be achieved in us unless we have a clear vision, and the deeper and clearer the vision, the more God can use us. I have to say to you as I say to myself, that having had a vision is not enough; it is a question of obedience to the vision. If we compromise on the way, or the vision becomes clouded, or we come down to something less, we shall never hear the “well done” of the Lord Jesus. I think it is amazing that Paul said: ‘I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision.’ Notice what the Lord Jesus said to him: ‘But arise, and stand upon thy feet, for to this end have I appeared unto thee [that was the physical], to appoint thee a minister and a witness both of the things wherein thou hast seen Me, and of the things wherein I will appear unto thee’ (v.16). It is not ‘things’ in themselves but ‘things’ seen in the Lord Jesus.”
