“We have friends aboard…”
On May 8, 1972, Sabena Airlines’ flight 571 was on its way from Vienna, Austria to Tel Aviv with ninety passengers aboard. Sabena was the Belgian national airline. About twenty minutes out of Vienna, four passengers─two men and two women who actually were members of the Black September Organization (a Palestinian terrorist group)─ entered the cockpit to hijack the flight. When the plane’s British-born Captain Reginald Levy saw what was happening, he calmly told the passengers: “As you can see we have friends aboard.” He concealed from the hijackers that his wife was among the passengers. Truly I tell you…
Project First Fruits is designed to assist the Household of Faith (Community of Believers) in Israel. It is one of the projects that was always near and dear to my father’s heart (Ray Sanders, CFI co-founder).
Recently, because of your generous support, CFI was honored to be able to provide financial assistance, as well as much needed clothing from our Distribution Center, to a ministry that provides encouragement, care and is a “Safe Haven” to those that have found themselves on the streets with nowhere else to turn. The remnant of His people
“Then it will happen on that day that the Lord will again recover the second time with His hand the remnant of His people…And will gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth” (Isaiah 11:1).
North America is one of the corners of the earth where Jewish people have enjoyed peaceful and prosperous lives after the destruction of most of the European Jewish communities in the years of WW2. One may wonder about the timeline of that day that the Lord will again recover the second time His people and bring them back to their ancestral land. Are we now close to that day? (more…)
The holiest site of Christianity
On my very first visit to Israel, I was given advice about spending time in the peaceful garden around the empty Tomb. I did and not only on that visit but on every time when I have been in Jerusalem. Many of those times are filled with memories of friends of Israel who joined our annual tours to make a pilgrimage.
